For the prom of 2023, I was chosen alongside my friend, to MC for the event. This responsibility involved handing out the awards, increasing the atmosphere of the event, and announcing the prom king and queen. This event meant a lot to me as it was my brother's last prom, and I wanted to make it special. This Activity allowed me to enhance my communication skills in front of large crowds, as well as, how to adapt quickly in situations that may prove uncomfortable. Furthermore, being an MC for Prom gave me a sense of responsibility. I had to understand that I played a vital role in creating a memorable experience for all attendees. I had to be well-prepared, familiarize myself with the program, and maintain a professional demeanor throughout the event.
Additionally, this CAS activity allowed me to develop my creativity. I had the opportunity to inject my humor, charm, and personal anecdotes into my interactions, creating a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. Through my improvisation and quick thinking, I learned to adapt to the energy of the crowd, as well as, keep them engaged and entertained.

Kings College London is well known for its exceptional teaching and research within the health and medicine fields. I was privileged and lucky enough to be able to attend a summer programme throughout the summer of 2022. I was enrolled in the medicinal science field, as it would help me pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. Additionally, due to Kings' large facilities and state-of-the-art machines, I was able to get some hands-on learning about the respiratory system, as well as, be provided with the opportunity to better understand human anatomy hands-on with the use of deceased donated bodies.
During the course, medicine was not the only focal point of the teaching. During the one-week experience, tasks that required me to critically think about the effects of the distribution of medicine, as well as the socioeconomic effects of the costs of medicine throughout the world and how some may be negatively affected by large pharmaceutical companies were also prominent.
This experience has helped me reflect on the effects that pharmaceutical companies have had on the population, as well as the ethical conundrums that face doctors and nurses daily under the influence of pharmaceutical companies. Additionally, the course has taught me commitment, as before the summer school I was required to apply, then when I was accepted, expected to fly to England and attend classes regularly. This shows the ability to plan and be involved in a long-term CAS activity. Additionally, it inspired me to continue pursuing my academic interests in medicine and to seek out similar opportunities for intellectual and personal growth.
Chinese New Year Lion Dance 2023

At the beginning of 2023, I and a few of my friends were assigned to play the drums for the lion dance ceremony. Participating in a drumming performance during the Chinese New Year celebration was an enriching experience that allowed me to strengthen my connection with Chinese my own culture and collaborate with a diverse group of individuals.
This CAS activity meant a lot to me as I come from Chinese descent and the Lion dance is very prominent and important during the Chinese New Year holidays. Participating in the drumming performance for the lion dance ceremony was a truly enriching experience that allowed me to connect with my Chinese heritage in a meaningful way. It taught me valuable lessons about teamwork, communication, and cultural appreciation, which I will carry with me in future endeavors. This experience taught me the value of teamwork, communication, and adaptability in achieving a collective group goal. Additionally, it allowed me to better hone my musical skills, including my beat and rhythm abilities.
Origami Workshop 2022

During 2022's Wells Without Walls event, I volunteered to assist the Japanese club with their origami workshop. As someone with prior knowledge of paper folding and origami, I thought it would be a good chance to share my knowledge. This experience helped me to promote Japanese culture and creativity in the form of artistic expression through origami. Through origami, people could express a part of themselves through the creation of various items, such as sword swords or flowers.
Despite that, however, a challenge that I was faced with during the workshop was attempting to assist as many students as I could, which is why I had to rely on my fellow club members to consolidate the work and help other tables whilst I helped one table. Additionally, I found it hard to focus during the workshop, especially considering my friends were present, which made it even harder. However, I stayed committed to my job and was not distracted by their attempts at tomfoolery.
